๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ”ฅ Halloween and Bonfire Night Safety Tips!

As we gear up for Halloween and Bonfire Night, let's make sure we have fun while staying safe! Here are some top tips from the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and Northamptonshire Police:

Candles and Flames:

Opt for artificial candles to avoid fire hazards.

Costume Safety:

Keep costumes away from candles and matches.

Remember: STOP, DROP, and ROLL if clothing catches fire.

Trick or Treating:

Supervise younger children.

Know where older children are and remind them to act responsibly.

Respect 'no trick or treating' signs and be careful when crossing roads.

Fireworks Safety:

Attend organized displays if possible.

Read instructions and light fireworks at arm's length.

Keep a bucket of water handy and handle fireworks responsibly.

Sparklers are not for children under five.

Bonfire Safety:

Check the structure before lighting.

Position bonfires away from sheds, fences, and trees.

Never use petrol or paraffin to light a fire.

Wear suitable clothing and never leave a bonfire unattended.
